This is a beautiful procession. Colorfully dressed elephants ara a special feature of it. The chief elephant of the Dalada Maligawa carries the casket of the sacred Tooth Relic. Various groups of people walk with the elephants. The whip crackers lead the procession. The other groups such as dancers, drummers, flag bearers and stilt walkers follow them. The torch bearers are very important because the procession parades at night.
